Flip doll

This doll is part of a beautiful dance that tells the story of a young girl's wishes and dreams.

She has an old scruffy doll that she wishes were new and beautiful, and magically the doll transforms.

My good friend from college asked me to make this flip doll, and it has been quite a journey.

I now have a new pattern that I might use for some other story telling flip dolls. I enjoyed the sewing, the hand painting and the beading.

If you like it, Pin It!

Robyn - She is beautiful! She turned out so well! Good job!
Thanks Susie. I'm happy and so are the recipients. As soon as I learn how to, I'll post a quick video they sent of the doll flipping - the dancer does this move holding the doll by one arm and it flips really fast, and looks quite magical for a moment.

This is wonderful Robin! I just started using pinterist today and have mostly just re-pinned your pins! I'm very passionately crafting now too, though with far less to show. You're inspiring. : )
Thank you Madeline. I had a lot of fun making her, and I love Pinterest. Right now I'm making a zombie for another commission. More pics soon.
