Here are some more of my wavy edged paper beads. They were made in the usual manner, then once dry I wound variegated embroidery thread around the middles, securing with a drop of white glue. I sewed coordinating seed beads on to the thread. To hang them on a doll's skirt, for Coolabberation 2009, I strung glass beads on either end with more thread and tied them in place. These beads are all about 1 1/2 inches long.

Or so I intend to use what has turned out to be an immense crocheted basket made from at least 200 grocery sacks. Using double and single crochet and scorning a pattern, this is what the new basket looks like. Next to it, the last smaller but just as functional basket for comparison. The large one is roughly 18 inches high, and has a diameter of 22 inches.

Barbie Redux Doll

Here are some pictures, taken by my husband, of my Barbie Redux doll, "Winged Victory". The exhibit starts August 7th with a reception in the evening. I'll be taking along some of my lovely ginger bread cake. There will be a Barbie look alike dress up contest and a treasure hunt. Her head still moves. I figure you could really screw with someone's mind - every time they look at the statue she's looking in a different direction. Heh, heh, heh.
